Inversion Table Benefits

There are many benefits to using an inversion table. In this article we will discuss how this ancient technique has helped so many people find lasting relief from back pain.

Right now, while you are reading this you are probably at least slightly hunched over, with your head tilted forward. Freeze for just a second and think about the current position of your lower back, neck and the curvature in your spine. Think about how gravity and weight is making you hunch over.

With inversion therapy, gravity is finally on your side. It gives your spine a break from compression caused by gravity. When you are in this position the force of gravity naturally decompresses the back.

While inverted, gravity gently pulls your body down. This relieves tension in the spine and loosens up tight ligaments and muscles.

You can still take advantage of inversion table benefits without lying all the way upside down

Using adjustable inversion tables such as the Teeter 550, Teeter 950 or Teeter F5000 inversion tables is safer and more practical than using forms of inversion therapy that involve suspending your entire body from a horizontal frame. These tables can be easily adjusted to any angle so you can introduce your body to inversion at a pace that is right for you.

Your body needs to get used to being inverted. An adjustable inversion table allows you to choose an angle that is comfortable for your body. You can reap the benefits at a 15 degree inversion, so there is no need to do too much too fast.

Gradually increase the time you spend on the table, as well as, increase the angle of inversion. To experience maximum inversion table benefits, try doing it for 10-20 minutes twice a day. If you feel stiff or tense afterwards, simply reduce the duration and the angle of your inversion.

Using an inversion table improves circulation and fluid movement.

Stretching stimulates the flow of lymphatic fluids, which flush toxins from your body and improves your immune system.

The discs that cushion the vertebrae are filled with a jelly-like fluid. As people age these discs become dry and brittle and actually shrink. This condition is called spondylosis. Using an inversion table enables fluids to rehydrate the spinal discs, so they don’t lose moisture.

Chronic back pain is often caused by poor circulation. Whenever blood can’t carry oxygen and nutrients to an area of the body, that body part will quickly become damaged and feel pain. Any improvement in circulation and fluid movement will enhance your body’s natural ability to heal itself.

In addition to he benefits mentioned above, Inversion Tables also:

  • Improve the Quality of Your Sleep
  • Improve Your Flexibility and Mobility
  • Improve Blood Flow through the Body
  • Fight the Effects of Aging and the Inevitable “Shrinking” of Your Posture
  • Inversion Tables are Way Cheaper than Visits to the Doctor or Chiropractor
