Symptoms of Low Back Pain

Any form of pain in the body is downright uncomfortable and well, painful! And if you are experiencing symptoms of low back pain, then you know what I’m talking about. Lower back pain is the most common forms of back pain and it can be experienced as a mild ache, sharp stabbing pain, or severe debilitating pain. If you are experiencing severe low back pain lasting for more than a few days, it is advisable to see your primary healthcare provider as soon as you can, in order to rule out any potentially serious conditions. Having said that, if you are experiencing mild aches and pains in the lower back, this may be a onetime occurrence and can resolve itself in under a couple of weeks.

The type of lower back pain you are experiencing is dependent upon what is causing the pain. Trauma is the most common cause of low back pain, followed by muscle imbalances in the body. You may have never heard of muscle imbalances before, but they are extremely common in almost everyone. They develop overtime and can pull your spine out of proper alignment.

Symptoms of low back pain is pain that is felt in the lower back and buttock region. It can develop gradually or come on strong out of thin air. It can be mild or severe, constant or come and go as it pleases. The pain can lessen or intensify depending upon which position you are sitting or laying, and also by the various activities you perform throughout the day. Lower back pain can be aggravated further by lifting and twisting motions. Sneezing and coughing can also aggravate lower back pain.

Lower back pain that travels down through the buttocks and into the legs and feet is called Sciatica. Sciatica is a very common form of lower back pain, but thankfully it can be easily treated.
