Neck Pain Treatments

Neck pain can be experienced as acute, sudden pain that resembles a pulled muscle or it can become chronic and last for months. Whatever form of neck pain you may be suffering from; there are all natural treatments that can help bring you relief.

Neck pain can be tricky due to the simple fact that the upper part of the back and neck is a complex network of muscles joints, tissues and bones. The neck supports the head which on average weighs 8-10 pounds. If you think about it, that is a lot of weight to support on a daily basis.

Oftentimes we place our heads and neck in incorrect positions. If you are like many people, you sit at an office desk eight hours a day staring at a computer screen. After long periods of time, the head and neck can easily “fall” or “tilt” forward, pulling you out of proper alignment. If you do work at an office job all day, it’s extremely important to be aware of your posture throughout the day and make corrections as needed.

An easy neck pain treatment is to keep correct posture. Having an ergonomic work station will help prevent future neck ailments. Be sure to keep your monitor at eye level, so you are not looking down or looking up, but your neck is in a neutral position.

Another simple yet effective neck pain treatment is addressing your trigger points. Everyone has trigger points, especially people suffering from back pain. Trigger points are tiny contracted knots and can be found nearly everywhere in the body. Trigger points are infamous for referred pain. The trigger points may be located in your shoulders but they can send pain into the neck area. You can easily treat your own trigger points with a trigger point system.

Another key neck pain treatment is addressing muscle imbalances. As we mentioned above, our neck and head can naturally tip forward due to everyday activities such as work. This normal movement overtime can cause some muscles in the upper back and neck to become weak, while others become overworked and stretched out.

Correcting muscle imbalances can be pretty straight forward and easy once you know what they are and how to correct them. To learn all about muscle imbalances, go to: https://losethebackpain.com/treatments.
