Are you looking for an effective back pain treatment that actually works and doesn’t put you at risk of serious side effects common to pain medications (like addiction, gastrointestinal bleeding and heart problems)?
The video above lists seven of the most common mistakes people make when seeking back pain relief. If you’re still hurting, there’s a good chance you’re committing one, or all, of these:
1. Continuing to Do What Doesn’t Work
If you’re not feeling better after trying a treatment, ditch it and move on to something else. Remember, it’s not the number of treatments that matters, but the need to see steady gains.
2. Not Dealing With the Pain in the First Place
Are you in denial about your back pain? Does it disappear at times, allowing you to forget about it, then come back with a vengeance when you least expect it? Back pain is not a “normal” part of life. If you’re hurting, even occasionally, you need to find relief.
3. Thinking You’re Too Fit to Have Back Pain
People who exercise frequently are just as likely to have back pain as those who don’t. Being fit does not make you immune to pain.
4. Treating Only the Symptoms
Pain is a signal that something is out of balance in your body. If you’re only treating the pain, for instance with prescription painkillers, you’re doing nothing to help the underlying imbalance that is causing your pain. This means relief is only superficial … and temporary. Abnormal postural conditions are causing your muscles, joints and ligaments to function under increased stress and strain, eventually leading to failure (i.e. pain). You must address these issues to permanently relieve your pain.
5. Not Understanding That Back Pain is a Process
Back pain is rarely the result of a one-time incident, such as an accident or injury. Instead, back pain typically develops gradually over time, the result of years of poor posture, repetitive stresses (such as digging in your backyard, typing on a computer or tensing your muscles due to anxiety), picking up children or even carrying a heavy backpack or purse. Rather than happening overnight, back pain creeps up on you slowly and typically gets increasingly worse with time if it’s not properly treated.
6. “I’ve Tried Everything Syndrome”
Do you feel like you’ve tried everything to heal your pain, but still haven’t found relief? Avoiding telling yourself that surgery is the only option you have left, or that you’ll just have to learn to live with the pain. Even if you’ve visited numerous physicians, chiropractors and physical therapists, most of them will not do an assessment to help you identify your muscle imbalances, which is crucial to finding long-term relief.
7. Not Taking Control
Most people are not aware of the true causes of back pain. Finding this knowledge means you can get better faster and with better results.
How to FIX Your Muscle Imbalances to End Your Back Pain
Muscle imbalances are the number one cause of back pain, and lead to your body and spine being pulled out of their normal position and into what we call dysfunctions.
Physical dysfunctions develop over time — the result of poor posture, repetitive stresses, sitting too much, and so on – and are the direct result of imbalances between various muscle groups, i.e. “muscle imbalances.” Your body is then forced to work each day with this dysfunction and eventually this creates a condition, like a herniated disc or a pinched nerve, for example. Even the smallest muscle imbalance can over time pull you out of balance and place tremendous amounts of uneven pressure and wear and tear on your body … especially the vertebrae, discs, spine and its supporting muscles.
This frequently leads to back pain, and maybe associated pain in your buttocks, legs, shoulders and neck. As you know, pain is your body’s way of alerting you to a problem that needs to be fixed …Â and the solution starts at the foundational level with your original muscle imbalances.
With the Lose the Back Pain System, you’ll go through a series of self assessments designed to help you pinpoint which postural dysfunctions you have, then you’ll discover a customized series of corrective exercises, stretches, and self-treatments that are unique to your condition and specific muscle imbalances. Tens of thousands of people have already used this breakthrough system to eliminate back pain in less than 30 days.
a lot of people don’t realise that back pain can creep up on them, especially young people who think they are indestructable and take many unnecassary risks with lifting and in later years they suffer, workplaces have a responsibility to ensure younger workers are not put at risk…i enjoyed your article and the video.
