[Guest post from Ryan Healy.]
In May 2017, I was bouncing on an indoor trampoline with my kids when I tore my meniscus. At least, that’s when I think it happened.
I didn’t experience any sharp pain immediately, it just felt “off” and I knew it wasn’t right. The sharp pains came later when my knee would catch, sometimes causing me to yell out in pain. (If you’ve ever torn your meniscus, you know what I’m talking about.)
I got an MRI, the surgeon confirmed I had torn my meniscus and recommended surgery. So I began to research. What should I expect after getting a meniscectomy?
Based on what I could tell, about half of people feel better after getting one and the other half feel just as bad or worse. Not very good odds, if you ask me.
Furthermore, getting a meniscectomy removes part of the meniscus and increases the chance you will tear your meniscus again.
I knew this was true because a friend of mine had gotten multiple meniscectomies and didn’t have any meniscus left! He told me that he’s always in pain now.
Knowing that surgery could lead to bad outcomes, and knowing that surgery was irreversible, I decided to explore stem cell therapy. Ultimately, I decided on using the Regenexx procedure at the Centeno-Schultz clinic in Broomfield, Colorado, which is near where I live.
That decision led to the additional discovery (by my new doctor) that I also had a partially torn ACL, probably from my early 20s. A cyst near the torn ACL indicated it was an old injury.
When I was 21, my knee experienced significant swelling after a run. I visited a doctor of internal medicine who told me I had “unusual laxity” in my right knee. His advice: Don’t run on uneven surfaces. (Great, thanks.)
I now believe this is when I partially tore my ACL. But it was never diagnosed because that doctor never ordered an MRI or any imaging whatsoever.
My new doctor at the stem cell clinic also pointed out that the instability in my knee caused by the torn ACL is likely what led to me tearing my meniscus 17 years later. And in 2018, I needed to get it all fixed.
Regenexx uses autologous stem cells instead of stem cells from cord blood. The marrow is taken from your iliac crests and the stem cells are extracted from the marrow. Those stem cells are injected into the site that needs to be healed.
I completed the three-day Regenexx procedure on July 27, 2018. I had to wear a knee brace for 8 weeks and focus on strengthening my right leg, which had atrophied significantly.
Results took longer than I would have preferred, but one year later my knee felt really strong. Today, my knee feels as good as new, and I’m able to hike, bike, and do heavy squats without any issues.
But I’m also not ignorant as to the risks of aging. I know fibrin and scar tissue can build up inside my body. And if that happens, I know it can cause issues with my joints.
Having already dealt with a serious joint issue in the past, I want to do everything I can to keep my joints healthy. That’s why I take Heal-n-Soothe every single day. To me, it just makes sense.
As an active person and serious cyclist, I’ve crashed a few times over the years. I know Heal-n-Soothe helps my body to heal and get rid of any excess fibrin caused by those accidents.
Unfortunately, I recently shattered my clavicle in a fairly serious cycling crash and required surgery. So today I’m even more committed to taking Heal-n-Soothe daily. After all, I know there’s a lot of fibrin and scar tissue my body will have to deal with.
The good news is you don’t have to be a super active person to benefit from Heal-n-Soothe. Neither do you have to be accident-prone like me. 😉
All of us deal with excess fibrin and scar tissue. It’s a natural part of aging. Heal-n-Soothe is the solution. It’s an easy, low-cost way to “clean” the joints and keep our mobility as long as we possibly can.
If you’d like to try Heal-n-Soothe yourself, you can get your first bottle for free. Check out the details below.
